This policy explains what information DefPay collects when you use this website or apply for a merchant account, and how we use and protect it.

Information we collect

When you apply for an account we collect your name, email address, mobile number, business details, PAN, Aadhaar number, GSTIN (if any), settlement bank account details and the documents you upload.

We also record technical information such as your IP address and the time of your request, to protect the service against misuse.

How we use it

To verify your identity and business, to decide on your application, to create and run your merchant account, to contact you about your account, and to meet legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

How we protect it

Documents are stored privately and are only available to our authorised verification team. Data is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access to our systems is restricted and logged.

Sharing

We share information only with banks, payment processing partners and service providers who need it to provide the service, or with authorities where the law requires it.

Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and afterwards for the period required by law. If your application is declined, we keep it only as long as needed for record-keeping and fraud prevention.
